Family farm of the 9th generation

We are Barbara and Lukas – and together with our little daughter Marie we live and work on the Kelderer farm in Villanders, South Tyrol.

 

When Lukas took over, it was clear: we wanted to continue down this path – but also think outside the box. Lukas comes from a trades background, Barbara from the hospitality industry. Two perspectives that helped us see our farm in a new light – not bigger, but more consciously.

 

Our cows – the “girls” – are simply an integral part of our lives. Working with the animals, tending the meadows, and practicing mountain farming are the foundation of everything we do.

With the cheese dairy, we have now found a way to add more value to our farm – while preserving what has defined it for the last 8 generations.

ABOUT KELDERER KAS

There's a lot you can say about cheese – about maturity, about tradition, about craftsmanship. We say something different:

 

Kas should be there for everyone!

 

For children. For older people. For cheese lovers who might otherwise have to go without. That's how the idea for Kelderer Kas came about. We wanted to make a cheese that's good for everyone.

WHY OUR CHEESE IS GOOD FOR EVERYONE

From the milk of our own cows, we produce a cheese that is handcrafted and matured over time. We adhere to this traditional foundation – and that is precisely what is important to us.

 

What we do differently: We process our milk pasteurized!

This is anything but typical for a farmstead cheese dairy. But for us, it's the logical next step to combine what matters to us:
genuine handcraft, milk from our own farm and the responsibility to make food that is there for everyone.


Simply cheese. For everyone.
